Austral Bricks (Hallett Brick)

Retaining Walls Category

From humble beginnings, Austral Bricks has grown to be one of the leading, quality clay product manufacturers in the world and a truly great Australian success story.

More than 100 years of South Australian history lies behind the name Hallett Brick. English migrant Job Hallett began making bricks in surburban Adelaide in 1886 with a small family claypit and horse drawn pugmill. Today that enterprise has developed into South Australia's largest manufacturer of clay products and is owned by Bristile Limited.

Bristile Limited manufactures a wide range of building materials and operates in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, exporting to a growing international market.

Products manufactured include clay bricks and pavers, terracotta and concrete roof tiles, masonry products and 'Linkwall' walling material under the brand names of Nubrik, Hallett Brick, Metro Brick and Bristile Roof Tiles.

In Adelaide, Hallett Brick is the State's first choice for housing and commercial building products and our pavers feature in major locations such as the Adelaide Airport, Botanic Gardens and Wine Centre, the Hutt Street precinct and the Convention Centre.

State of the art technology at the Golden Grove plant, combined with the company's long experience in the manufacture of bricks and pavers to exacting Australian standards results in a product of world class quality.

Today Hallett Brick maintains it's local reputation for quality and service which has made it SA's leading brickmaker for over 100 years.
